
Barclays has announced changes to the team’s executive committee today, which is in force.
Alistair Currie, the team’s chief executive, will leave Barclays to pursue a portfolio of the Board of Directors.
Mr Currie joined Barclays in August 2017 as a head and product head of a corporate banking product. In October 2017, it became a co-head of corporate banking and in September 2018 he was appointed head of corporate banking.
In November 2021, he was appointed world leader of consumer banking and payments (CB & P). In this role, it led to the continued transformation of CB & P business to make it more digitally focused, effective and returning with a focus, providing excellent customer service.
Before joining Barclays, Alistair Currie was in the Anz Banking group in Australia, where he recently played the role of team leader, responsible for technology, joint services, businesses and real estate and played a key role in Anz’s digital transformation. Before taking over this role in 2011, he had previously participated in Anz in 2008 as Managing Director of Transaction Banking.
Prior to Anz, Alistair Currie spent 18 years at HSBC in various international banking roles in the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Asia, including HSBC Chairman and Managing Director Taiwan, between 2007 and 2008. COO, Wells Fargo HSBC Trade Bank Na.
Craig Bright and Anne Marie Darling will assume the role of Barclays Executive Services.
Craig joined Barclays in 2020 as leader of the team. He is responsible for the group’s technological strategy and leads the delivery of our digital transformation to both our consumer businesses and wholesale businesses. Craig has over 30 years of experience in technological and financial services that lead to technology functions and the design and implementation of complex and large -scale clouds and digital strategies.
Anne Marie joined Barclays in April this year after an extensive 25 -year career in Goldman Sachs, where he has been a partner for the last 12 years. Anne Marie held many leadership positions during her tenure, including the head of the World Multipurpose Platform Sales Group, head of FICC’s global execution services, COO of world -class mobile sales and head of the Marquee digital distribution.
