Ziglu Limited entered the Special Administration on July 7, 2025. David Shambrook and Damian Webb of RSM Restructuring Counseling were appointed as special managers.
Ziglu is authorized by the United Kingdom’s Financial Behavior Authority (FCA) to issue e-money and provide payment services.
Ziglu also offers its customers Cryptosset products, including a borrowing product. These activities are not regulated by FCA, although FCA oversees compliance with revenue of money laundering.
On May 23, 2025, FCA took measures to protect consumers, placing restrictions on Ziglu in relation to specific products. On June 17, Ziglu agreed to stop making both payments and cryptocurrency activities, allowing customers to withdraw funds.
FCA actions provided significant protections for customer money and other assets held by the business. Ziglu has since requested that all customers withdraw e-money and exchange/wallet cryptographic funds from their accounts.
On June 26, 2025, Ziglu’s directors applied to court to place it in a special administration because they came to the conclusion that the company was insolvent.
