Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CYSEC) launched A new quiz Designed to help investors evaluate their ability to recognize investment fraud.
Online investment scams are rapidly increasing, often promoted through misleading ads and fraudulent positions that promote foreign currency investments, differences of differences (CFD) and cryptographic assets and promising high and fast returns to lure them.
CYSEC’s new quiz helps investors to evaluate their skills in detecting fraud and enhance their ability to effectively protect. CYSEC’s mission is to protect investor interests and secure their market confidence. Drivers for Financial Education are available through a dedicated department on the CYSEC website.
The latest initiative is also aligned with the main issues of this year’s World Investor Week (6-12 October 2025), which will face the impact of fraud and fraud ranging from fishing to “pig”.
CYSEC will complement its current initiative with a comprehensive awareness campaign in all traditional media and official social media channels, with the aim of maximizing public promotion. At the same time, Quiz Financial Literacy will be spread to universities and other relevant domestic institutions.
In addition, it will be shared with the ESMA as well as with other national competent authorities, underlining the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of optimal practices in promoting economic alphabetism.
Dr. George Theocharides, President of CYSEC, noted:
“Regulators are responsible for promoting a culture of security raising – not only to highlight the risks and improve fraud detection, but also to ensure that investors will benefit from the digital economy.
There is also an obligation on businesses that have been supervised by CYSEC to preventively embrace innovation in fraud management and incorporate advanced fraud prevention mechanisms. “
Ed. Maria Nikolava took the test and scored 11/12. Failed the question about encryption pre-selections. Shame on it.
