Vienna, based in Austria, Austria -based Bitpanda, announced Markus Dorner as the company’s new technology manager (CTO) from October 1, 2025. Having joined the company three years ago, Markus was a driving force behind the strengthening of the Bitpanda platform, the escalation of its technology and the development of high performance teams that continue to distinguish Bitpanda.
Markus Dorner was previously a CTO of Bank99 and was a senior Amazon software engineer in Canada.
Bitpanda has said it has entered a fascinating new phase, with significant growth on its customer base, expanding the product range and the most important milestones such as a micar license and the entry of the UK market. As CTO, Markus will lead Bitpanda’s technological vision and continue to build the foundations needed to escalate the infrastructure, while providing a seamless experience for more than 7 million Bitpanda users in all markets.
Proven leadership in technology
During his time at Bitpanda, Markus has increased through the director’s ranks to a vice president of engineering in his new role in the leadership team. As a VP, it not only directs the evolution of the basic platform, but also encouraged a culture of engineering that appreciates cooperation, flexibility and innovation. His work was an integral part of the promotion of Bitpanda’s potential in areas such as commercial infrastructure, security and scalability: all critical to maintaining the reputation of Bitpanda as a reliable investment platform of Europe.
