The exchanges and Clearing Limited of Hong Kong (HKEX) today announced the appointment of Phillip Wu as a chief executive, head of commercial businesses.

Mr Wu will participate on October 20, 2025 and will be responsible for the guidance of commercial business groups for both cash markets and derivatives. He will report to Xu Liang, Hkex head of business.

Mr Wu is part of HKEX by HSBC, where he was Managing Director, team leader, HSBC’s world -class controller, Deputy Managing Director and global supplies. Before that, he spent 16 years in JP Morgan, climbing to the position of Managing Director.

He holds a Master of Economics degree from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Trade from the University of British Columbia.

Hkex also announced the appointment of Sally Kwok as CEO, head of Connect, from January 1, 2026.

In this role, Mrs Kwok will lead a newly -established Connect team in the market department, unifying the initiatives related to the connection of HKEX to all categories of assets, referring to Gregory Yu, Hkex Head of Markets.

Mrs Kwok is currently co-head of the negotiation, overseeing the market for cash shares and the Connect Stock program, as well as customer services and market structure. He has held superior positions in Hkex for more than 17 years and previously worked at UBS. Ms Kwok holds a degree in Engineering and Informatics from the University of Oxford.
