The Australian Securities and Exchange Commission (ASIC) approved the CBOE Australia market application.

The CBOE will now be able to list new companies on its platform in direct competition with existing market operators, including Australian Exchange Securities (ASX).

As a result, Australia’s investors will have access to more investment options, initial public offers (iPOS) and doubly listed in foreign entities.

Earlier known as Chi-X Australia, the CBOE started in Australia in 2011 as a competitor to ASX, introducing an alternative transaction space for titles with ASX and contributing to increased competition and innovation in the Australian stock market. It was acquired by Cboe Global Markets in 2021, making Cboe Australia.
