Boku Payment Solutions Provider has received a payment permit from the Brazilian Central Bank (BCB).

This authorization allows Boku to operate as a Payment Starter and Electronic Money Publisher by placing the company to participate in the evolving Open Brazilian funding ecosystem as a PISP Provider (PISP)-a key step towards activating unhindered Pix payments (JSR).

With this license, Boku is on the right track to make Pix Automático available to traders in early 2026.

With this move, Boku can help millions of Brazilians, including non -credit cards, make safe, uninterrupted repetitive streaming payments, subscriptions and digital goods. This supports Brazil’s impetus to digital first payments and the highest economic integration.

Pix, started by the Brazilian central bank in 2020, is now the most popular method of payment in Brazil. The payment system is used by more than 76% of adults and is particularly favored by younger banks with digital first platforms such as Nubank.

Pix Automático began in June 2025 to meet the growing demand of consumers for convenience. Allows repeated payments for services such as streaming and subscriptions.

Boku is now authorized as a Brazilian payment institution, covering payments and electronic money. This authorization is a prerequisite for future participation in Pix and Open Finance, placing the Boku to extend its market capabilities.

Stuart Neal, Managing Director, Boku, said:

“Our mission is to let consumers pay everywhere for what they love in the way they prefer, for traders, this means that we offer local choices that unlock the new growth, our commitment to expanding local options – such as Pix Automático – shows how innovation can lead.

Ricardo Amaral, VP Latam, Boku, said:

“Brazil is leading a payment revolution and Boku is proud to help shape its future. This next chapter focuses on Millions of Brazilian consumers-who may not be credit card holders, as well as those who prefer our new and safer ways to pay our new and safer ways. BCB issued by BCB.
