BTIG today announced the creation of the Mutual Risk Solutions Group.

Paul Covello and David Gold will serve as co-head of American division, with Trevor Harrison, chief executive of BTIG Singapore, who leads to APAC efforts. The London -based Hedge Fund team will continue to support the company’s customer base throughout EMEA.

The Hedge Fund Solutions Group will work alongside the company’s institutional businesses, external trading and primary brokerage groups for the provision of consulting services to mutual risk funds and family offices, focusing on business strategy, infrastructure, adulthood.

Paul Covello joins BTIG as Managing Director with more than 25 years of experience in the industry, including both market roles and sale. Recently, he was the world leader of the outpouring of Jefferies, where he led teams to the US, Europe and Asia and developed strategies and solutions for Hedge fund customers around the world. His previous roles include the global head of negotiation at Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn and the commercial positions in Jat Capital and Pequot Capital.

David Gold also unites the company as CEO. Previously, he was the Optima Partners CEO, responsible for global business activities, HR, IT and Finance. Prior to that, he was executive director of Morgan Stanley’s Business Business Business Consultants, advising starting managers and existing mutual fund managers. Earlier in his career, he had roles in Willis Towers Watson, BlackRock, Mitsui & Co. and CIBC Oppenheimer.

Trevor Harrison is currently the CEO of BTIG Singapore. Previously, he was Vice President of Sales and Capital Import to Citigroup Global Markets Holdings Inc., where he was responsible for Prime Brokerage on the Australian market. Before that, he held sales and marketing roles at State Street Australia Limited.
