Continuing to reshuffle its senior management ranks following the departure of CEO Peter Hetherington last year, Retail FX and CFDs broker Capital.com has announced the appointment of Rupert Osborne as CEO of Capital Com UK Limited (Capital.com UK), with subject to regulatory approval.

In his role, Rupert will oversee all UK operations, including setting the strategic direction for the business and overseeing all material controls. The UK CEO responsibilities were previously held by the Group CEO, Kypros Zoumidou. The company said the decision to create a standalone UK CEO role reflects Capital.com’s commitment to better align with local customer needs and market dynamics.

Rupert Osborne was one of the former IG Group executives who joined from Peter Hetherington (former CEO of IG) at Capital.com in 2022, having spent more than 15 years in commercial and sales roles in the UK and US. At the beginning of the year he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Capital.com. After working on the dealing desk at IG for several years, he became Deputy Head of Trading for FX and Cryptocurrency products. In 2017, he was appointed CEO of IG US, where he launched and won regulatory approval for the company, before growing it into a major new competitor in the US forex market.

Rupert Osborne, the new CEO of Capital.com UK, said:

“I am excited to take on the role of UK CEO at Capital.com and lead a team of talented people. Together, we will build on our many successes to achieve the next stage of our strategy. By continuously enhancing our offering and forging strategic partnerships with like-minded innovators, we aim to provide the best products and services to meet the rigorous needs of our UK customer base.”

Kypros Zoumidou, Group CEO of Capital.com, said:

“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Rupert as CEO of Capital.com UK. As Managing Director of the UK operations, Rupert will drive the business forward whilst delivering the highest level of service to our UK customers. Rupert’s appointment reflects our commitment to staying at the forefront of our clients’ diverse needs, while driving growth in line with local market changes, regulations and best practices.”

Rupert’s appointment as UK CEO follows the recent appointment of Tarik Chebib as CEO of Capital.com’s new Middle East operations. Based in Dubai, Tarik will oversee Capital Com MENA Securities Trading LLC (Capital Com MENA), which is authorized and regulated by the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA). With these new regional CEO appointments, Capital.com said it aims to build strong local leadership teams empowered to drive growth and innovation in each market.
