The CME Group of the International Paircatives announced today that it has completed its first cycle of natural delivery of future Hard Red Spring wheat, with 182 conventions delivered on July 1, 2025, the first delivery date from the start of the product.
“Completing the first round of delivery is another important milestone for our new Hard Red Spring wheat contract,” said John Ricci, chief executive and world leader of agricultural products at the CME Group. “The contract already provides value, with over 460,000 contracts being negotiated by April launch, as more industry participants are turning to CME Group to manage all aspects of the risk of wheat market.”
The future wheat of the hard red spring are naturally delivered using shipping certificates, including minneapolis/st. Paul/Red Wing and Duluth/Superior Switching Districts, as well as a point of origin in the Red River valley that includes East Northern Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. All CME Group’s wheat products are cleared into a single liquidation home, offering additional capital efficiency and increased spreading capabilities to market participants.
The contracts and options of the hard red spring are mentioned and subject to the rules of the CBOT.
