The International Parivatives Marketplace CME Group has announced its new options for Solana (SOL) and the XRP Futures Suite are now available for negotiation.
Customers will now be able to exchange options in SOL, Micro Sol, XRP and Micro XRP Futures, with daily, monthly and quarterly end.
The first trade for XRP contracts took place on Sunday, October 12th and was executed between Wintermute and Superstate. The first trade for the options for Sol Futures took place on Monday, October 13th and was executed between Cumberland Drw and Galaxy.
“As the encryption market continues to mature, market participants are increasingly trying to manage their report and seek new opportunities in a wider range of cryptographic instruments,” said Giovanni Vicioso, world -class encryption products at CME Group. “With the deep liquidity we have created in our Solana and XRP Futures markets, these new options provide traders additional tools to further improve the increasing encryption investment and compensation strategies.
“Wintermute is proud to run the first trade block in CME Group’s XRP options with superstate,” said Ethan Ren, head of the Wintermute Group. “The launch marks a significant expansion of the reported encryption derivatives beyond BTC and ETH, reflecting the increasing complexity in the way in which market participants manage the report. We see this as a positive message for the continuing development and depth of markets.”
“We are pleased with the first CME Group XRP options alongside Wintermute,” said Saahith Pochiraju, a portfolio manager at Superstate. “The start of the options for the Futal Fulfillment Contracts Expands the means available to manage and compensate for digital assets exposure to strategies such as Superstate Crypto Carry Fund.” This development reflects the growing institutional depth in encryption derivatives and we are pleased to support CME Group’s ongoing efforts to expand liquidity and market access. “
“Cumberland is excited to facilitate the first trade block for Sol Futures contract options, which highlights the strong and growing demand for more ways to exchange digital assets,” said Roman Makarov, head of Cumberland Options Trading. “Institutional participants are clearly looking for a greater choice and depth in encryption markets – a trend that will continue to lead to innovation throughout the ecosystem.”
“We are proud to facilitate the first trade block in the CME Group’s SOL options, expanding institutional access to one of the fastest growing blockchain ecosystems,” said Jason Urban, a global head of the Galaxy negotiation. “The addition of SOL and XRP options marks another important step in the evolution of regulated encryption derivatives, deepening liquidity and expanding the available tools to market participants.”
