Eurex has joined forces with software provider VERMEG to offer clients a unique collateral management solution linking the Eurosystem Collateral Management System (ECMS), Clearstream’s Triparty services and Eurex’s GC Pooling.
This partnership will provide new opportunities to optimize collateral through the re-use of collateral to increase customers’ Central Bank line of credit within the new ECMS.
GC Pooling is the leading pan-European cash-based liquidity pool for secured funding with over 160 buy and sell firms. It provides direct clearing with automated connectivity to Eurex Clearing as a central counterparty and real-time collateral management services provided by Deutsche Börse’s Clearstream post-trade business.
The implementation of the ECMS in November 2024 will offer new opportunities to optimize and mobilize collateral in the Eurozone through the reuse of GC Pooling. This includes seamless refinancing with NCBs, CCP margin collateral and bilateral margin collateral.
The ECB uses the ECMS to harmonize the collateral management practices of national central banks across the Eurozone. Leveraging VERMEG’s collateral solution, Eurex clients will benefit from improved liquidity management and collateral optimization. VERMEG’s Easy Collateral is a digital and cloud-based plug and play platform for monitoring, optimizing and processing collateral operations. Increased efficiency in collateral operations is also enhanced by the Triparty STP offering from Clearstream & VERMEG.
