Exclusive FNG… FNG has learned that institutional forex and digital asset broker LMAX has hired Luke Dorney, as the firm’s new Chief Curator.
Luke Dorney has spent the past four years in the institutional digital asset space, most recently as General Manager & VP of Sales – US & EMEA for blockchain economy infrastructure solutions provider Blockdaemon. He was previously Head of Sales & Partnerships for Zodia Custody, the Standard Chartered backed crypto asset custody solutions company. Last year we reported that LMAX and Zodia had partnered for crypto custody for CoinShares.
Prior to his time in the world of digital assets and blockchain, Luke Dorney spent 12 years at JP Morgan, ending his tenure at the US banking giant as an Executive Director in JP Morgan’s Corporate Investment Bank.
This marks LMAX’s second recent senior hire for its LMAX Digital business. Late last month, LMAX added XTX Markets executive Chris Knight to the role of CEO, overseeing the operations and future growth strategy of its LMAX Digital business, the company’s institutional cryptocurrency exchange.

Last week I joined the LMAX Group to lead the growth strategy for digital asset custody. LMAX was one of the first companies I got involved with when I moved into digital assets 4+ years ago. It was clear to me, very early on, that they were (and continue to be) a leading and trusted organization at the forefront of developing the regulated market institutional structure for digital asset trading and custody.
The pace of change with digital is lightning fast. I learned that nothing stays the same for long and that you need to be ready for the next phase of institutional digital adoption – this next phase will be more exciting than ever!
