Exclusive FNG… FNG has learned that Doto, a relative newcomer to the Retail FX and CFDs brokerage industry, has made some changes that include the departure of CEO Dimitrios Zampoglou and the addition of a new non-“industry” CEO, Victor Zimarev.
The firm has also stopped accepting new clients at CySEC’s EU-facing licensed entity, Doto Europe Ltd. The “Open Account” function on the company’s doto.eu website now displays a message stating “The company is currently not onboarding new customers. “
As we reported in late 2022, Doto hired former CFI Financial Group COO Dimitrios Zaboglou as CEO. The company also added former FXOpen CEO Maria Markidou to its Cyprus-based management team.
Well, it looks like Mr. Zaboglou’s tenure didn’t last long as Doto brought in Victor Zimarev as the company’s new CEO. Victor Zimarev served as CEO of fintech-focused marketing firm DataDuck before joining Doto. (Dimitrios Zampoglou’s LinkedIn profile now shows his status as “Returnee”).
Doto, an application-focused broker, was first established in 2019 and received a CySEC CIF license in 2021 (initially as Vasby Capital Markets Limited). The company is ultimately controlled by Cypriot businessman Timur Nemishov. Doto mainly focuses on customers in Far Eastern markets such as Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. In addition to its Cyprus entity, Doto operates offshore brokerages based in the Seychelles and Mauritius, and a licensed subsidiary in South Africa.
