Further to HSBC’s strategic review of HSBC in HSBC Bank Malta Plc, a preferred bidder has been identified and HSBC Continental Europe has had exclusive discussions with Crediabank SA (formerly known as Attica Bank)
An agreement has not yet been reached and the strategic review remains ongoing.
Earlier this year, HSBC announced the sale of its French portfolio primarily and some other retail loans maintained after the retail banking activity in France in the consortium including Rothesay Life PLC and CCF.
In June 2025, HSBC Continental Europe said it had reached an agreement on the sale of its business in Germany at BNP Paribas SA, Niederlassung Deutschland.
