IG Securities, the Japanese subsidiary of electronic trading major IG, is adding stocks linked to the FTSE Taiwan RIC Capped Index.
The new offering aims to replace TAIEX-related instruments, which IG Japan stopped offering in December 2023.
The new media will be introduced from Tuesday 13 February 2024.
The FTSE Taiwan RIC Capped Index represents the performance of Taiwanese large- and mid-cap stocks. Securities are weighted based on their market capitalization, adjusted for free float and reviewed on a semi-annual basis. To limit concentration in any single security, components are capped quarterly so that no more than 20% of the index’s weight can be allocated to a single component and the sum of the weightings of all components representing more than 4.5% of the index should not exceed 48% of the total weight of the index.
The index is derived from the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (GEIS), which covers 99% of global investment capitalization.
