Trading activity at leading ECNs and multi-bank FX streaming services increased for the second consecutive month in April 2024, continuing a fairly strong start to the year for the industry.

After daily trading volumes at top institutional eFX venues surveyed by FNG increased by 13% in March, activity increased by a further 5% in April. Despite a slight decline in trading on Deutsche Borse’s 360T, FXSpotStream, Cboe FX and EuronextFX each reported healthy increases in activity in April for the second consecutive month – including a best-ever monthly ADV for FXSpotStream at $91.877 billion.

Cboe FX (formerly HotspotFX)

  • April 2024 average daily volumes were $50.024 billion, +4.5% from $47.892 billion in March.

EuronextFX (formerly FastMatch)

  • April 2024 ADV $28.673 billion, +7.9% from March ADV of $26.570 billion.

FXSpotStream

  • April saw FXSpotStream cross the $2 trillion mark in total supported volume for the first time in the company’s history. This resulted in ADV filings in Spot (66.147 billion USD), Other (25.730 billion USD) and Total ADV (91.877 billion USD) for the service.
  • FXSpotStream’s Total ADV MoM (April 24 vs March 24) increased 11.26%.
  • FXSpotStream’s total year-to-date ADV (Apr 24 vs Apr 23) increased 66.13%.
  • FXSpotStream’s Spot ADV MoM (April 24 vs March 24) rose 13.69%.
  • FXSpotStream’s YTD Spot ADV (April 24 vs April 23) is up 48.97%.
  • FXSpotStream’s Other ADV MoM (April 24 vs March 24) rose 5.48%.
  • FXSpotStream’s YTD Other ADV (April 24 vs April 23) is up 136.01%.

  • Average daily volumes (ADV) at 360 T were entered 29.760 billion dollars in April 2024, down 3.0% from $30.669 billion in March.
