Electronic trading major Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ:IBKR) today announced a newly expanded range of investment options for Japanese clients with the addition of Global Contracts for Difference (CFD) on US equities, offering leverage to investors through Interactive Brokers Securities Japan Inc. (IBSJ).
Japanese clients can now invest in CFDs alongside global stocks, options and futures. CFDs allow clients to trade leveraged US stocks and ETFs, enhancing their trading capabilities and giving greater flexibility to their investment strategies. CFDs are part of IBSJ’s existing product range and have transparent, low commission and financing rates.

The following new features are available to Japanese customers:
- IBKR Desktop: This next-generation desktop trading application for Windows and Mac is designed for today’s traders who demand simplicity but appreciate Interactive Brokers’ powerful trading tools. IBKR Desktop marks a new chapter in innovation and focus on intuitive user experience at Interactive Brokers.
- Expanded Overnight Trading Hours Service: Interactive Brokers was one of the first brokers to introduce overnight trading in US stocks and ETFs, with more than 10,000 US stocks and ETFs. This allows Japanese clients to trade an even wider range of US stocks almost 24 hours a day, five days a week. Clients now have the flexibility to trade more US stocks and ETFs when convenient, and clients in Asia can trade a wider variety of US stocks during local market hours.
- Fractional Share Trading: With Fractional Shares, clients can trade eligible stocks and ETFs in the US, Europe and Canada, providing a simple way to build a balanced portfolio and invest in stocks regardless of share price.
- Improved Japanese Website: A new website dedicated to Interactive Brokers Securities Japan Inc. is available in Japanese and English. With a streamlined navigation process, investors can easily find material on products, platforms and tools.
