Marqeta, Inc. (Nasdaq: MQ), a global release platform of the modern card, announced today that it is working with Klarna, a World Digital Bank and a flexible payment provider, to allow Klarna card: a new debit card powered by Visa Feltible Centent.
In July 2024, Marqeta became the first publisher of the US certified Visa credentials. With VFC, Marqeta will allow Klarna’s customers to pay immediately or pay later when needed, all on the same card. This milestone is based on years of cooperation between Marqeta and Klarna, including the supply of Klarna’s virtual cards in the US since 2018.
“The future of payments is flexible and we are proud to allow this new offer with Visa,” said Rahul Shah, head of product and engineer, Marqeta. “Our ongoing collaboration with Klarna is a real proof of what is possible with the Marqeta platform and how we allow our customers to grow and innovate on a global scale.”
With the modern, flexible card issuance platform, Marqeta makes it possible for world leaders such as Klarna expanding to new markets and offering innovative payment options tailored to the evolving needs of customers. Marqeta is currently supporting Klarna in six countries, helping to promote global development and seamless, consumer first experience.
“Through our ongoing collaboration with Marqeta and Visa, we evolve the Klarna card into a truly dynamic and versatile payment experience,” said David Sandström, head of marketing, Klarna. “We are excited to continue to innovate alongside Marqeta as we escalate the Klarna card to provide smart, smarter payments that enhance smarter, more up -to -date buyers everywhere.”
