The law on European accessibility (EAA) is a legislative measure aimed at enhancing digital accessibility for people with disabilities throughout Europe. Applies to all consumers inhabited in the EU.

Saxo Bank reiterated its commitment to make digital services accessible, without exclusion and usable for all customers.

SAXO’s accessibility statement is now incorporated into its specific disclaimers, which are hosted on the dialogue menu and platform.

As part of its ongoing evaluations, Saxo has identified several areas where accessibility can be improved. These issues may affect users based on auxiliary technologies or alternative ways of interacting with digital content.

Keyboard navigation and alternative inputs:

  • Not all functions are fully functional using a keyboard or other non-pointer input methods.

This can affect users who do not use mouse or touch display, including people with motor damage or screen reader users.

  • Screen reader and support technology support:

Some content may not be fully accessible using screen readers or similar technologies. This can affect users who are blind or have low vision and are based on oral feedback or Braille output to browse digital interfaces.

  • The change of text size and the scaling of the layout:

In some cases, the increase in text size or the use of zoom features of the browser may not work as expected. This can make it difficult for users with visual damage to read the content comfortably.

While most of the SAXO platforms follow the recommended contrast requirements, there may be specific areas where contrast is not sufficient for users with low vision or blindness.

To enhance accessibility to its services, Saxo launched a comprehensive accessibility program, including:

  • The development of a new system of design and accessory library, accessibility integrated from the ground. This system will be released on all relevant platforms in a series of priority as soon as possible, helping to ensure a consistently high level of accessibility and compliance.
  • Training of relevant workers and business units to build internal awareness and ability to access without exclusion.
  • Working with external experts to support our work, conduct regular accessibility assessments and guidance improvements.

While the new design system is being developed and implemented, Saxo continues to monitor the accessibility of its existing platforms. SAXO is facing critical accessibility issues where possible in the limitations of current technology and infrastructure.
