State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT) announced today that it has appointed John F. Woods to the financial director.

Woods, who will take part in the State Street in late August, succeeds Mark Keating, who has served as a temporary CFO since February. When joining the State Street, Woods will report to Ron O’Hanley, President and CEO of State Street.

Woods joins State Street from the Financial Group, where he is currently Vice President and Chief Financial Manager. It is responsible for the economic planning of citizens, the controller, investor relations, strategy and corporate development, treasury, taxes, business financing and assets and supplies.

Woods brings over 38 years of experience in the industry in multiple funding sectors on State Street that works in broader and complex financial institutions. The deep experience of the CFO, along with the proven capacity to determine and execute business strategy, balance she management, focusing on building and developing high execution groups, as well as management of investor and regulatory relationships places it well to provide immediate value.

Before the citizens, Woods spent several years at the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, where he was recently CFO by MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation. Prior to this Woods it maintained the roles of economic leadership in other major financial institutions, including Home Lending CFO in JPMorgan Chase. He began his career at Arthur Andersen where he became a partner in the financial and danger group.

Woods holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
