The Programmable Stripe Financial Services Company launched today the Stripe Terminal in Japan, helping Japanese businesses unite commerce experiences in electronics and offline channels.
Stripe Terminal includes TAP support for iPhone payment, as well as integration with PayPay, the top QR payment method in Japan with over 70 million users and Weixin Pay, also known as WeChat Pay. Stripe’s newest S710 reader provides traders with cellular connectivity so they can accept payments without interruption – even if WiFi falls down.
Inforich, a popular battery sharing service with about 55,000 sites at national level, will soon start importing the Terminal Stripe.
In 2024, the strip of payroll in Japan increased more than 40% compared to the previous year, while the cross -border volume increased by more than 62%. Business models have also been differentiated, with over 9,000 Japanese companies selling subscriptions through stripe pricing last year.
Stripe supports some of Japan’s top companies, such as Toyota, Ana Group and Orix. Worldwide, Stripe is processing over 1.4 trillion payments per year.
