The Swiss Financial Market Supervision Authority (FINMA) issues a warning about the calls of the electronic “fishing” with a fake Finma phone number.
The falsification is when a caller deliberately misrepresents the information transmitted to the caller ID screen to conceal their identity.
In the current wave, the call appears on the screen with the phone number of the FINMA switch: 031 327 91 00. Callers pretend to be Finma employees. As a rule, Finma does not come into contact with individuals, either by phone call or by email.
Recipients of calls supposed to be from Finma are always called upon to check the caller carefully.
Finma does not recommend that it responds to such suspicious calls or disclose personal data in any way.
