The Committee of Companies and Exchange of Italy (CONSOB) ordered the interpretation of access to a website that abused the image of Finance Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti.
The regulator ordered the interruption of the site that “cloned” Mr. Giorgetti’s image. Through fake interviews apparently given to the primary television programs, the “clone” of the minister advertising the investment services provided through abusive trading platforms.
Consob’s intervention – to protect savings and the Minister himself, who was completely independent of the case – was carried out by the exercise of powers arising from the “Development Decree” (converted by Law 58 of June 28, 2019) and the Law of Capital (Act 21 “.
In recent months, Consob has made similar interventions in places that were abused by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
At the same time, Consob has also prevented six other abusive financial mediation sites. These are:

The number of websites that block Consob since July 2019, when the Authority has taken power to order the exclusion of websites of abusive financial intermediaries, has increased to 1,311.
The exclusion activities of locations from internet connectivity operating in Italy are ongoing. For technical reasons, real blockage can take a few days.
