The London Metal Exchange (LME) confirms that Mr Marco Strimer has been made a Class 7 (Honorary) Member of the LME, in recognition of his service to the LME Group.
His career spans 40 years, specializing in the financial industry with a focus on clearing and operations.
Marco Strimer was previously Head of Global Operations at leading banks in Switzerland and abroad. Prior to this, Marco was Managing Director of SIX x-clear, a recognized UK offshore clearing house owned by the SIX Group. At the same time, he was a member of the Executive Board of the Securities Services Department of SIX Group.
He joined LME Clear Limited in December 2013 as a director of the Board and helped oversee the design and launch of LME Clear in 2014, and its subsequent development. Marco was appointed Chairman of the LME Clear Limited Board in November 2020, in which position he remained until the end of his term as Chairman on 20 July 2023. He remained a director until 31 December 2023.
